Some days the bike just rides itself while I watch.
    Perfect weather, life is good!

Nice here too a bit further south. Wind not bad but I stayed in a 5 mile
loop I do looking for some speed on the Catrike. It is better but
nothing great.Happy I can at least ride outside.

Recumbent trikes are not any faster than I am so don't worry about speed. Be satisfied that you can still ride.

Tom you ride your bike and I will ride mine. I have generally cut you a
lot of slack but you have no clue how read a post or anyone's meanings.
I can worry about speed if I want it is relative. Basically I am going
to ignore your post from now on. If you read my post and the meaning it
has zero to do with your response.

Your speed is quite a bit faster than Tom, who if one is being generous is possibly remembering CatTrike rider who is similar age as Tom I think 80ish
and I think has said he like Tom has slowed to 11mph average.

It looks like the CatTrike is certainly capable of going fast. Your getting used to yours and IrCOm not sure how upright or not the 700 is and how aero
etc it would be but seems to be capable of getting on par at least with
fast roadies ie high teens to low twenties.

It will not be as fast as a road bike for sure but thas the potential to
be close. On my road bike I would be around 14.5-18mph on or generally.
On the Catrike I think realistically it will be 12-16mph. One downhill
in some places I can probably get pretty fast with less worry than the
road bike. The uphills and turning are where the Catrike take the
backseat. You cannot dig in and pound your weight on pedals and you
cannot lean a turn. The catrike turns way different. The great thing is
you can just stop and not worry about unclipping and putting foot down.
You can park at 4-way intersections and wait of clearance. THe catrike
700 is very recumbent at 25 degree seat angle.
