Specialized have joined Schwalbe and Vee with radial MTB tyres, Schwable
have introduced a new less downhill focused tyre thatrCOs Radial casing
though itrCOs an option which is claimed to be a quick rolling tyre, at least for its type.

Bike tires were always radial-esque. What's changed in this case is
the angle of the layup of the plies - "Specialized has increased the
casing thread angle to around 70 degrees, compared to roughly 45rCo50
degrees on typical mountain bike tyres." A true radial would have 90
degree plies against the plane of rotation.

We'll have to sit tight to see if it catches on...

Presently only a few manufacturers though Schwalbe have added it to more
lines of tyres though sticking to the more gravity focused ones. Though
have adjusted the tyres as apparently some hard riding folks where rolling
the sidewalls a bit in berms and so on.

Probably less disruptive than 32in and even with my fairly old MTB itrCOs
tech I can try as and when I need new tyres!
