On Wednesday I wore a scarf for the first time this year --
and realized that when I wear a scarf, it isn't necessary to
    braid my hair.

Made it much quicker to dress; I didn't even comb my hair,
but brushed it back and put a pigtail holder on it.

I made a quick trip to the health-food store for kim chee,
the pharmacy for levothyroxin, and Kroger for milk.

This was my first trip after the crash, if you don't count
riding it home from the Trailhouse on the day before. (Or
walking it to the trailhouse a week before.)

On Tuesday, I walked there in driving clothes, and used my
pants protector for the first time in yonks, and discovered
that the tie for my left knee was too short to tie in a bow.
(So I tied a square knot and used a pencil as a fid when I
took it off.) I'm sure that I used to wear it over thicker
pants than the jeans I had on.

Today, I used the protector to ride the flatfoot up the
street to a barbecue, and substituted a black drawstring of
the correct length that I found among a hanger of discarded
strings that I keep around for just such an emergency.

    So I didn't braid for today's farmers-markets tour, and
found that hair escaping over my left shoulder fluffed up
into the view of my mirror. I could see through it without
trouble, but in the interest of safety, I stopped and pulled
my hair far enough to the right to insure that it wouldn't
come forward over my left shoulder -- whereupon it started
coming forward over my right shoulder and interferring with
getting my phone out of its pocket.

Not a safety issue, but I'm going to resume braiding.
Braiding guarantees that it will come forward over the left
shoulder, but also keeps it below the view of the mirror.

My hair would probably hang straight down my back if I
refrained from combing it before tying it.
