The weather looks good for Friday, my appointment is for something
that doesn't require me to bring a driver, and it's early enough that
I could go somewhere afterward.

But if I rode, it would take me half an our to get undressed for the
exam.

I'm going to drive.

But, yay!, it's the last appointment in January that requires my
presence.

Fingers crossed, but go-bag ready, in case of a trip to an emergency
room. (I know the best route to three.)

On the other hand, rain is predicted on Saturday, the day I want to
ride to the farmers market at the Pete Thorne Center.

so what exactly stops you wearing suitable clothes for the exam?

Is it not at all possible to ride in non-lycra?

rain, I stopped and put it on, attempted to look back to see whether
it was safe to start again, got off the bike and took it off.

There are different capes.

Mine has clear panels on the side of the hood, and a drawstring to keep
the hood close to my face. Combined those make looking behind viable.

Main hassle I find is finding one long enough, and in a sensible colour. For some reason they tend to be in drab colours.

At least mine was yellow.

When the weather is warm, I just get wet. Better rain than sweat.

For cold weather, I have a woven-nylon overshirt. Or maybe polyester.
Some hydophobic synthetic.
