The family of a California teenager who has been considered
brain dead for nearly two years marked her 15th birthday this
week, saying the young girl is "still alive and just as
beautiful as ever."
Jahi McMath, who has been on a ventilator and hooked to feeding
tubes since suffering complications from a tonsillectomy,
celebrated her birthday Sunday surrounded by friends and family.
"Happy Birthday Sweet Jahi, may you live to see many many more
years and keep healing as He has written out your life," her
family wrote on a support page on Facebook.
Jahi has been kept her on life support at an undisclosed
location in New Jersey after she suffered massive bleeding and a
heart attack and was declared brain dead from the operation on
Dec. 12, 2013.
