• I overslept and missed the race...

    Was it any good?

I can't believe I slpet through my alarm... didn't wake up until an hour
and a half after the chequered flag! Fuck!

I've looked at the results and the write-up on Planet F1 and was pleased
to see Ferrari not looking like they've shit the bed again. I'm still
holding out for Numbver 8 for HAM!

I'll put a replay of it on later this evening so I can see these new cars
in action, and maybe set two alarms for the next early o'clock race...

    I enjoyed it - the first 1/4 - 1/3 was pretty entertaining! There's
definitely challenges in overtaking on these high-speed circuits but it
was still an entertaining way to spend a few hours on a Saturday night
    here in Mountain Time.

I'm trying to keep an open mind on the new regs ;)

All I can say is: subscribe to F1TV.

    At $100CAD a year, that's just over $4CAD a race.

In the US F1TV access has been rolled into Apple TV, a subscription to
    which is $12.99/month or $99/year.

And if you want you can watch the Sky Sports feed on Apple TV.
Although, AIUI, you would have to watch live...no on demand replay
    option for Crofty.

I might try that for some other race. Live wasn't an option for
Australia - started about 15 minutes behind and paused a couple of times
for snacks and other necessary interruptions.

The Sky Sports replays of all sessions are also available. Go
down to "Catch the Entire 2026 F1 Season", click the Australian
Grand Prix tile, and scroll down to "Australian Grand Prix on Sky
Sports". It shows upcoming sessions first so you'll have to
scroll to the right if the weekend isn't over.

The pre- and post-session shows are included so it's a bit more
than what ESPN used to provide, except no Ted's Notebook as far as
I can see. The F1TV feed is available in 4k HDR/Dolby Vision, but
the Sky Sports ones are only 1080p SDR, if you care about that.

The multi-view option where you can include driver cams does seem
to be available live only and not on all platforms. However, you
have the option of subscribing to F1TV for free by linking it to
your Apple account, and the F1TV app does have multi-view on
    replays.

That is not allowed either on the (new) regs.
