Just for clarification, this is the endpoints of around 30 feet of cat5 cable, wired star quad, for two electrode, two electret capsules to be operated stereo. 1/8" stereo jack at the end opposite the capsules.
That's not how I would have wired it - but I had been assuming two
4-wire cables, one for each capsule.
The text on that drawing does not mention the vital point that the
inputs to the amplifier must be balanced if the cable is going to work
as starquad - in fact point 3 suggests to me that they aren't balanced
at all, as any grounding must be completley separate from the signal
wires and should not be connected to the capsules.
You might get an accepatable result by following those instructions, but
that isn't the right way to use starquad. As you have spare cable, you
could try it and see, leaving a bit extra so you can cut off and re-make
the terminations if you need to change them.
