Obama's director of ICE received a medal when he hit the 900,000 removal mark for illegal aliens.

Trump's Border Czar, who oversees ICE, is called a Nazi by Democrats and is being threatened with impeachment, prosecution, and imprisonment if the Democrats take Congress, for no other reason than he's doing his job and enforcing the laws of the United States.

The kicker... they're the same person in each case: Tom Homan. He's doing the same job for Trump that he did for Obama. He was lauded and rewarded for it under Obama and is being threatened with prison time for it under Trump.

I'm not going to agree that administrative warrants and ICE "traffic
stops" in which they ram vehicles are constitutional policing. The two Minneapolis protestors were murdered.

Homan is actually quite capable of enforcing immigration law without the unconstitutional bulllshit demanded by Trump. He's hurt his own
    reputation.

Did you say something positive about Obama? Who are you?

    Wait, hypocrisy?

You don't think CBP and ICE have ramped up unconstitutional policing
tactics under Trump and are clearly committing crimes that had not
occurred under Obama in such high numbers? Was even a single American

Sorry. I don't know why I asked you to think instead of taking the cheap
shot. There's a lot more going on than just ordinary but heavy-handed immigration law enforcement.

Why does it matter if anyone killed is American or not? That's "racist"
and suggests that non-Americans are clearly killable.

That said, the only people who have been killed--and it's only 3,
right?--were direct action responses to administrative removals. So, basically, putting one's American Citizen body between the agent and the target.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and federal officials argue that organized "direct action" groups directly escalate the potential for
lethal force. They maintain that when activists assemble to block federal buildings or surround immigration sweeps, it transforms routine
enforcement into highly volatile physical confrontations.

Also, with regards to Obama, sorry mate:
Undocumented migrants died during the Obama administration's enforcement operations, both inside ICE detention facilities and after being sent
back to dangerous home nations. Human rights organizations and
government watchdogs documented between 56 and 67 deaths inside ICE
custody from 2009 to 2017. Investigations by groups like the American Civil Liberties
Union and Human Rights Watch linked multiple custody deaths to substandard medical care, delayed emergency responses, and administrative neglect
within the immigration detention system. Outside of custody, the administration's emphasis on expedited removals and border crackdowns
led to the return of thousands of Central American asylum seekers to volatile regions. Human Rights Watch documented at least 83 instances where Central American deportees were murdered shortly after their forced return to El
Salvador, Guatemala, or Honduras. No official records or major investigations indicate that U.S. citizens were killed during these operations.

Same shit. It's just that Obama is a cartoon face and Trump is a cartoon
    heel.

It makes a violent response more likely but doesn't create an exception

Black? The protestors were white or Hispanic, not too many blacks.

Sorry but I don't believe big city cops would have any competance in
border patrol, military policing, currency forgery, or those incredibly
detaied mail and wire fraud cases conducted bt postal inspectors and IRS agents.

I don't think I have ever made this argument hit home but the reason, to
me, that Renee's wife said "why did you use real bullets?" is because all
of these protestors believe that non-cops, not ERT-trained, ICE agents
even remotely care about de-escalation. They're not polce, they're not
cops. Their job is not maintaining the peace. They have the ability to bag
and tag a protestor but they don't have arresting authority. They're
trained to be kidnappers, bag and taggers. Trained more militarily than in anything close to Police Academy.

In military and ICE operations, "bag and tag" means securing a detainee
and their property. In tactical military capture, troops follow the
"5Ss and a T" protocol (Search, Silence, Segregate, Safeguard, Speed, Tag)
to disarm targets, document grid coordinates, and move prisoners to the rear.
In ICE operations, it refers to civilian property processing. Agents put personal gear in tamper-resistant bags and inventory it using Form I-77, while keeping vital IDs separate for removal processing.

ICE training aligns closer to military-style operations than local
policing because it focuses on dismantling decentralized, transnational networks rather than public safety patrolling. Agents are trained at
federal academies under administrative and federal law, emphasizing intelligence-gathering, targeted tracking, and tactical task-force raids. Because their targets blend into civilian communities, their methods
mirror counter-network operations instead of community-oriented police
    work.

Illegals and protestors are addressed and engaged with as enemy combatants
and not like criminals who need to be arrested and jailed for their
    crimes.

Where are you getting this shit?

ICE agents are police every bit as much as FBI agents, Secret Service agents, DEA agents, ATF agents, etc. are. They're GS-1811 special agents and are commissioned under and exercise federal law enforcement authority. They're every bit as much police as the local police are. They just enforce a
different set of laws. And they absolutely *do* have arrest authority. If you impede their operations or assault them, they can arrest you for violating about a half-dozen federal laws.

They're trained to be kidnappers, bag and taggers. Trained more militarily than in
    anything close to Police Academy.

    Again with the bullshit.

ICE goes to the same police academy (Federal Law Enforcement Training Center
in Glynco, GA) that every other federal agent goes to, with the exception of FBI and DEA who train in Quantico, VA.

This page says you are wrong. It's unconstitutional to arrest in

Read your own link. Nolo says ICE agents have "limited authority to arrest people for non-immigration offenses," and it sorts their arrests into two separate sections. The first is the administrative arrest for civil immigration violations, on a warrant signed by an immigration official
instead of a judge. That's ICE's daily business. The second is the narrow power to arrest protesters for federal crimes: assault, property damage, obstruction. That's the exception.

"When ICE arrests a protester" is where my post started, so nobody here is arguing they lack the authority. My point is what the arrest is for. The administrative arrest is the mission. It ends in a detention center, an immigration court, and a plane. The protester arrest is an interruption.
They make it because you're in the way, then hand you to a prosecutor who decides whether you're worth charging. An FBI agent's arrest is the payoff
of his job. An ERO officer's arrest of a protester gets in the way of his.

Read your own link. Nolo says ICE agents have "limited authority to arrest >people for non-immigration offenses,"

I summarized the bit that applies to arresting an American citizen for
    bad conduct at a protest.

and it sorts their arrests into two
separate sections. The first is the administrative arrest for civil >immigration violations, on a warrant signed by an immigration official >instead of a judge. That's ICE's daily business.

Now you are gaslighting. It has nothing to do with arresting an
    American.

    The second is the narrow
power to arrest protesters for federal crimes: assault, property damage, >obstruction. That's the exception.

    I just summarized that.

"When ICE arrests a protester" is where my post started, so nobody here is >arguing they lack the authority.

Yes, you were. Being dishonest, you cut the quote.

My point is what the arrest is for. The

Not cops. Not arresting officers. Law enforcement, yes. Not like FBI. Not like Secret Service. Not like ATF. Law enforcement.

What part of GS-1811 do you not understand? It's literally the exact same job classification as every other federal agent.

They are not pursuing criminals, they are doing administrative removal.

Every illegal alien who crossed the border without authorization committed a crime.

If you ipede their operation, they can capture and detain you. They cannot put you under arrest.

That's just flat out wrong. While I was working on task forces with ICE and CPB, I've watched them arrest people, put them in handcuffs, and bring them to the magistrate the exact same way I did.

You do realize that ICE doesn't just collect illegals for deportation, right? ICE's jurisdiction is one of the broadest in the federal government. They enforce a whole host of federal criminal laws. Everything from computer
hacking to smuggling to human trafficking to counterfeit goods to child pornography. And when they catch the people doing those things, what do they do? Yep, they ARREST them.

Jeezus wept. It's like talking to a child.

They will not read you your rights.

    They literally do.

You will not be seeing a judge or go to jail unless they can be pass off to the local
    actual police.

Wrong. If they're charging you with violation of a federal law, ICE takes you in handcuffs to a federal magistrate, then off to federal lockup to await prosecution by the U.S. Attorney on federal charges.

    Do your homework.

LOL! I was a special agent for 23 years, you brain stem. I know how it works and I know what ICE's jurisdiction and arrest powers are because I had the
    same powers.
