I would have been shocked if that *wasn't* the finding of the detectives.
I sympathize with the guy that wants the government to allow armed
security at the synagogues (and provide it) but I'm wary too because the
other religions will surely all expect the same. There'd even be some justification: there was been significant clashes between Hindus and
Sikhs in Brampton (a western suburb of Toronto with a massive South
Asian population) and the Muslims will no doubt cite Islamaphobia. Even
the Christians could easily make a case because a substantial number of Christian churches - over 100 if I'm remembering correctly - have been
burned down in recent years under "mysterious" circumstances. (I feel
like the media are pretty sure exactly whose committing the arson but is declining to say.)
