Not to be confused with the 2018 UK series nor the 2009 US series, both
with the same "Trauma" name. It is not unclear, but this appears to
actually be another UK show that Paramount+ is simply claiming as
"their" "original" (as usual) ... at best it is a "co-production".

All the episodes would have to take place within just a few hours
(similar to "24"), otherwise it would be a ridiculous storyline.

Paramount+ has announced Trauma, a new medical action-thriller
series led by Richard Madden, who played Robb Stark in Game of
Thrones. Trauma, which is a working title, comes from series
creator and writer Geoff Bussetil, whose previous credits
include Slow Horses, Scoop, and Skins.

Madden will play former Royal Marines medic turned ER doctor
Jim Marchant in a London hospital, fighting his way through
terrorists who have seized the building.

The show will see him attempt to save everyone floor by floor,
with the "balance of power" shifting as he continues his quest.
As the show progresses, "the building becomes a deadly battle
of strategy, nerve and survival."

While there have been many medical dramas and action series
over the years, Trauma looks to unite the two. Unlike the
anxiety-inducing struggles of Dr. Robby in The Pitt, Madden
will be facing off against enemies in the hospital in a violent
fashion.

What did Paramount+ and Lionsgate say about the new Trauma TV show?
"Trauma is exactly the kind of bold, global and propulsive
storytelling we want Paramount+ audiences to experience," said Jane
Wiseman, Head of Originals for Paramount+.

"Geoff Bussetil has crafted a nail-biting thriller that puts our
audience inside one impossible night with a hero played by the
incredibly talented Richard Madden. We can't wait for viewers
around the world to feel their pulse racing alongside his," he
added

The new series is produced by Lionsgate Television and 42 Management
& Production, with Prime Video and Paramount+ co-producing. Daniel
Syrkin will direct the show, and Chrissy Skinns will produce it.
42's Chris Kennedy is a co-producer on the show. Madden, Syrkin,
and 42's Ben Pugh and Ben Cavey are serving as executive producers.

"Together with 42, we've assembled a best-in-class team of partners
in Prime Video and Paramount+, and the result is a gripping,
high-stakes series that showcases Geoff Bussetil's distinctive
vision and Richard Madden's undeniable appeal," said Scott Herbst,
EVP & Head of Scripted Development, Lionsgate Television.

Trauma will premiere globally on Paramount+, with Prime Video
handling distribution in the U.K. and Ireland. A premiere date has
not yet been announced.
