I don't know how closely people here follow developments in the UK so
I'll give a brief summary to give you context for a stunning new
    development.

Two years ago, the Reform Party in the UK, a brand new party, won 5
seats in the General Election. The 5 new MPs included party leader Nigel Farage and Rupert Lowe. A few months later, Farage and Lowe had a major disagreement on policy and Farage pushed Lowe out. Lowe soon formed a
new party, Restore Britain, which was further right than Reform. Reform
was launched to great fanfare and many thousands of people bought
memberships. Reform acquired a few more MPs due to defections from the Conservative Party and some by-elections and both Reform and Restore did
well in elections in May this year but the Right as a whole remains
divided between Conservative, Reform and Restore parties.

Rupert Lowe took a huge step toward toward bringing Reform and Restore together in this public invitation to Farage to agree on 5 basic principles.

It's pretty amazing how sweeping these principles are but, given the
times, I can't help but think they will attract a lot of support. The
question is whether Farage and the other leaders of Reform can agree.
It's not remotely clear what will happen if Reform agrees so I have no
idea if there will be a merger of the parties or just an agreement not
to stand against each other in selected constituencies.

It will be very interesting to see Farage's reaction to this proposal!
Given the hundreds of polls that Reform has won in the past two years
and the passion of the Restore Britain supporters, this could be an
important step in uniting the Right against the Leftist parties like
    Labour and the Greens.
