The 2026 version on the Plex.

A strong new contender for worst film of all time.

ItrCOs a comedy but IrCOm not sure that itrCOs intentional.

The clever writing makes me think that the half dozen writers just donrCOt understand the meanings of the words theyrCOre typing.

ItrCOs full of snappy dialogue such as:
    Dad!
Why did you call him dad?
    Because herCOs my dad.

TeelarCOs father is black but young Teela is an improbably tall Asian girl
and grown. Teela is a tiny Mexican.

The best I can say for it is all the women are beautiful

If you hit he-man over the head, he reverts to his normal Californian
surfer, dude emo, gay moron, self.

Yeah, worst recent trend in TV and film is "colorblind casting" - makes
some recent Lifetime films real head-scratchers.

I am kind of hoping we've moved past this with even the BBC admitting
that "color blind" casting in historical dramas was creating way more
    problems then it was solving.

I'm your audience - don't treat me like an idiot.

The best I can say for it is all the women are beautiful

I am likely to watch it on that basis alone, assuming it comes to one of
my streamers and not to, say, Starz!

If you hit he-man over the head, he reverts to his normal Californian
surfer, dude emo, gay moron, self.

The main thing I care about - Does Orko make much of an appearance?!
Orko was literally the worst thing about the original cartoon series,
and I've gotten the impression that the movie either soft-pedals or
    completely memory-holes Orko.

I think it's okay when the show isn't realistic in the
first place. Most operas have always done colorblind
casting, since they aren't even trying to be very
visually realistic. It's a genre in which an overweight
40-year-old may sing the role of a lovely young ingenue.

It's jarring when it happens in shows which are otherwise
trying to be realistic. That's most of them. Even shows
as goofy as Married...With Children followed certain
    basic common sense.

I'm not sure how to categorize Bridgerton. People call it
a period piece, but is it set in history or in a fantasy
of historic aristocratic life? If the latter, maybe the
    colorblind casting is reasonable.

And I say that as someone who likes a few in the cast.

Still, a $200 million budget and it's got a bunch of movie stars, like
Idris Elba, Jared Leto, Alison Brie, Morena Baccarin and James Purefoy,
who has never turned in a bad performance.

    I'll give a (free) try.
