Teen Spy Series 'The Lady Grace Mysteries' Set to Return for Season 2

Elizabethan teen spy Lady Grace Cavendish is set to return for a
second season.
"The Lady Grace Mysteries," which stars Evie Coles as the world's
first female teen detective working as a private spy for Queen
Elizabeth I, launched on BBC children's network CBBC and streaming
platform iPlayer in April.
The second season, comprised of 13 episodes, is set to start shooting
next month in the U.K. and Belgium.
Based on the children's detective novels of the same name, the first
season saw Lady Grace team up with dashing Lord Osborne (Fintan
Buckard) plus her best friends Ellie (Carys John) and Masou (Rafael
Alessandro) as they discover the English court is full of plenty of
mysteries.
In Season 2, Grace will encounter Elizabeth's rival, Mary Queen of
Scots, as she undertakes a dangerous mission to rescue Sir Francis
Drake.
"Grace decides to protect her queen forever by uniting Mary and
Elizabeth and putting an end to their feud," reads the synopsis. "But
she must navigate this new mission whilst dealing with a series of
mysteries at court and the continuing challenges of teenage life,
including developing feelings for Daniel (Ellie's brother) who is
back at court, which puts pressure on her romantic relationship with
Lord Osborne."
Joining the cast in Season 2 are Amaree Ali ("The Lazarus Project")
as Daniel Bunting, Imogen Mackie Walker ("Spellbound") as Mary Queen
of Scots, Jack Forsyth-Noble ("Doctor Who") as Sir Francis Drake,and
Joy Tan as Lady Meadows.
Anna McCleery returns to lead the writing team with Vicki Lutas and
Karissa Hamilton-Bannis. Writers Tasha Dhanraj, Scott Payne, Thabo
Mhlatshwa and Rebecca Ramsden join for Season 2.
Director Louise N0 Fhiannachta is also returning, joined by Jordan
Hogg.

Grace Mysteries' returns for a second [season] as a brilliant

senior head of children's commissioning for 7+. "Its blend of
adventure, warmth and humour creates a show that brings audiences
together, sparking conversation and shared enjoyment across

deliver a series that offers even more moments for young viewers and
their families to enjoy side by side."
The series is produced by Cottonwood Media, Coolabi Productions and
commissioned by ZDF Studios and BBC Children's and Education.
