I watched some American Dad reruns. One was "Grocery Store Bank," a
solid entry which I believe was originally a standalone script.

Stan, Francine, and Roger all meet at random at the opening of a grocery store. They decide to have a drink together at the in-store bar, and
they start planning the perfect way to rob the store, as a game. Later,
they learn that the store was actually robbed, and each person wonders
which of the other two did it. Roger finds a burner phone (part of the
plan) and is preparing to turn it over to the cops when he watches its
footage and realizes that all three of them did the plan together, then
took a CIA memory drug which caused amnesia so they wouldn't have to
live with the guilt. I wonder if the original script skipped the CIA
drugs and just had them all get blackout drunk.

This is a great way to keep a long-running show lively: Acquire scripts
in other genres, then stick your characters in there. That's not
situation comedy, but a show which runs this long can't really be a true sitcom forever. Once the base situation is thoroughly explored and mined
for humor, something else is needed. American Dad isn't afraid to film different kinds of stories, and it works.

    What did everyone else watch?

In addition to World Cup soccer, and Fri's ep of GH, and ep. #3.2 of
"The Gilded Age", I also watched a weird little flick I found on Tubi:

    A Breed Apart (Tubi) - A 2025 comedy-horror film. This reunites Grace
Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner (are they besties IRL or
something?!) from 2022's "Fall", but this flick isn't nearly as good as
    "Fall" was.
I watched this primarily when I saw that Currey and Gardner were in
    the cast, along with (a now-chubby - doesn't she have a medical
condition or something?) Hayden Panettiere, and Riele Downs(!) and an
almost unrecognizable Joey Bragg - so this was somewhat of a "child
    actors" reunion flick.
Anyway, this was OK - poking fun at and satirizing "influencer
culture". But the special EFX, such as they were, were almost The
Asylum-level poor (pretty much all of the rabid dogs appeared to be
CGI!), which kind of detracted from the proceedings.
This flick is a way to pass the time I guess, but the much better Currey/Gardner flick to watch is 2022's "Fall".

P.S. The lead of "Fall 2" is the super-cute redhead from "The Outland"

I don't think I've heard of this one.

    This reunites Grace
Caroline Currey and Virginia Gardner (are they besties IRL or

-a-a I watched this primarily when I saw that Currey and Gardner were in the cast, along with (a now-chubby - doesn't she have a medical

almost unrecognizable Joey Bragg - so this was somewhat of a "child

This is a multi day catch up. Over the last few days I watched a few
    Father's Day movies including:

The Stepdaughter 2 (Lifetime) 2024 Tubi original movie. Picking up
where the first movie ended, The Stepdaughter murders her way out of the hospital that's holding her. Then there's a time jump that finds the
still psycho young woman tracking down her father and his new family and forcing her dad to let her move in so she can torment his new family.
And torment her father, because she has plans for him too. The father is
all, I just want to be happy with my new family, and the evil
stepdaughter is saying not on her watch! The way this one ends is
definitely setting up a third movie and if it keeps going, it looks like
they may take a page out of the "Stalked by My Doctor" series and make
the Stepdaughter a bit more self-aware in her evilness. She was
practically winking at the camera by the end of this one.

The Stepfather (4K disc) 1987 horror movie starring Terry O'Quinn as a
psycho killer who as the movie opens has just wrapped up murdering his
family and moved on to a new family to live happily ever after with.
Unless of course they don't live up to his standards, then he'll have to murder them and move on to a new family. At first everything is pretty
good until the stepdaughter starts to notice he's giving off weird
psycho murder your whole family vibes. And this upsets her. The movie
ends with The Stepfather getting shot twice and stabbed in the chest.
So I guess there won't be any sequels.

Stepfather II: Make Room for Daddy (streamed) So you know how Terry
O'Quinn's stepfather character got shot twice and stabbed in the chest
at the end of the first movie? Well, it turns out the first movie made
money. So he got better. O'Quinn murders his way out of the
psychiatric hospital and promptly finds a new wife. The woman he
marries (Meg Foster) insists they sleep together before they get
married, which should have been a red flag that she would not live up to
his high standards. One thing leads to another and he's once again
slicing and dicing people to keep his perfect family and when that
doesn't work out he's slicing and dicing people to get rid of his family.

As an aside, I was at a small horror convention this weekend where I got
to meet Caroline Williams who starred in "The Stepfather 2" and "The
Legend of Billy Jean." Pure coincidence I just happened to watch those
two movies and she was at the convention. I told her I just watched
"The Legend of Billy Jean" and "The Stepfather 2" while getting her
autograph. She was really nice. Actually it was a great convention.
    Everyone was nice.

Talamasca: The Secret Order (AMC) - Turns out I had the pilot episode
sitting on my DVR, but it was recorded under "Interview with the
Vampire." Like I suspected, this is basically, "Watchers" the series
and follows a secret organization that tracks vampires, witches, and
ghosts. The pilot episode introduces a young man who can hear people's thoughts, who is being recruited by the Talamasca as he slowly learns
over the course of the episode that they have been tracking him since he
was a young child, and secretly guiding his life. He's not too happy
when he learns all of this. The first episode was actually really good.
And now I *want* to see the rest of the season, but I only have the
finale on my DVR. The rest of the episodes are behind an AMC+ paywall.
I think for about 99 cents I can get AMC+ through Amazon Prime. I might
go ahead and subscribe once I figure out what else AMC+ has I might want
    to watch.

I posted elsewhere on this. ItrCOs $.99 a month for the first two months. You have your choice of subscribing to with ads or without ads. The price goes
up a lot more in month three without ads, but they are both $.99 so if you arenrCOt going to keep them go, ad free.

I don't think I've heard of this one.

    [snip]
-a-a-a This flick is a way to pass the time I guess, but the much better >>> Currey/Gardner flick to watch is 2022's "Fall".

This is a multi day catch up.-a Over the last few days I watched a few
    Father's Day movies including:

The Stepdaughter 2 (Lifetime) 2024 Tubi original movie.-a Picking up
where the first movie ended, The Stepdaughter murders her way out of
the hospital that's holding her.-a Then there's a time jump that finds
the still psycho young woman tracking down her father and his new
family and forcing her dad to let her move in so she can torment his
new family. And torment her father, because she has plans for him too.
The father is all, I just want to be happy with my new family, and the
evil stepdaughter is saying not on her watch!-a The way this one ends
is definitely setting up a third movie and if it keeps going, it looks
like they may take a page out of the "Stalked by My Doctor" series and
make the Stepdaughter a bit more self-aware in her evilness.-a She was
practically winking at the camera by the end of this one.

A couple of points about this one - I felt like this one was even more poorly directed/edited than the first when I saw it because it felt like there continuity errors or at least unexplained/unjustified developments.

I noticed that too. How was the stepdaughter roaming free all that time apparently living with relatives under her own name, yet the cops
couldn't find her?!? And I suspect they cut a lot out involving the
family from the first movie. There was *no* reason for them to be in
the sequel. My guess is they probably had a much larger role in the
    original edit.

Agreed that the sequel sets up a third one - The weird part? AFAICT,
there has been no movement in producing a third movie or even talking
about doing one, which just seems odd to me.

Maybe the (re)airings on Lifetime will breath life back into this series
and get them to do the third one.

The Stepfather (4K disc) 1987 horror movie starring Terry O'Quinn as a
    psycho killer

I still have never seen this film. It's on my list, but have never
    gotten to it.

It's worth taking a look at. It's available to stream for free on
several platforms. But make sure you watch the 1987 original. There is
also a 2009 remake floating around out there. As well as a 3rd movie.

Stepfather II: Make Room for Daddy (streamed) So you know how Terry
O'Quinn's stepfather character got shot twice and stabbed in the chest
at the end of the first movie?-a Well, it turns out the first movie
made money.-a So he got better.-a O'Quinn murders his way out of the
psychiatric hospital and promptly finds a new wife.-a The woman he
marries (Meg Foster) insists they sleep together before they get
married, which should have been a red flag that she would not live up
to his high standards.-a One thing leads to another and he's once again
slicing and dicing people to keep his perfect family and when that
doesn't work out he's slicing and dicing people to get rid of his family.

As an aside, I was at a small horror convention this weekend where I
got to meet Caroline Williams who starred in "The Stepfather 2" and
"The Legend of Billy Jean."-a Pure coincidence I just happened to watch
those two movies and she was at the convention.-a I told her I just
watched "The Legend of Billy Jean" and "The Stepfather 2" while
getting her autograph.-a She was really nice.-a Actually it was a great
    convention. Everyone was nice.

    That's cool.

Talamasca: The Secret Order (AMC) - Turns out I had the pilot episode
sitting on my DVR, but it was recorded under "Interview with the
Vampire."-a Like I suspected, this is basically, "Watchers" the series
and follows a secret organization that tracks vampires, witches, and
ghosts.-a The pilot episode introduces a young man who can hear
people's thoughts, who is being recruited by the Talamasca as he
slowly learns over the course of the episode that they have been
tracking him since he was a young child, and secretly guiding his
life.-a He's not too happy when he learns all of this.-a The first
episode was actually really good. -a-aAnd now I *want* to see the rest
of the season, but I only have the finale on my DVR.-a The rest of the
episodes are behind an AMC+ paywall. I think for about 99 cents I can
get AMC+ through Amazon Prime.-a I might go ahead and subscribe once I
figure out what else AMC+ has I might want to watch.

Wait until Tues-Fri - Prime Day starts tomorrow and you will likely get better deals on AMC+.

The added advantage, if you are interested, is that AMC+ also has
Shudder (horror) movies available - IIRC, that's how I saw the Jessica Belkin horror flick "Last Straw".

    Thanks for the heads up.
