I was recently a guest on a CNN segment as a pool and spa expert
talking about the memorial reflecting pool recently turning a dee green
shade. They were most interested to know about the nanobubbler
technology as well as why parks workers were seen dumping bottles of hydrogen peroxide into the reflecting pool in an attempt to prevent the algae problem from getting worse.
expanding on the subjects that we briefly discussed live on the air -
the potential for needing to drain and clean the reflecting pool
(again) as well as if adding hydrogen peroxide is a good idea (and will
it work)

00:00 - Why did the reflecting pool turn green?
02:00 - What contributes to algae growing in water?
02:30 - Darker color surface means warmer water which can cause
algae growth
03:00 - What is the reflecting pool nanobubbler system?
03:50 - The reflecting pool needs repairs and improvements to the
filtration system
05:50 - Does the reflecting pool need to be drained and refilled
07:00 - Will adding hydrogen peroxide improve the green water in the
reflecting pool

I wondered if that was you!

Dee green is even worse than pea green
shade. They were most interested to know about the nanobubbler
technology as well as why parks workers were seen dumping bottles of
hydrogen peroxide into the reflecting pool in an attempt to prevent the
algae problem from getting worse.
So rain can add contaminants to the water? DonrCOt let Claude Remer hear about this!

Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water.
