• [OT] Police and local government work together to keep people from attending free speech debate

Apparently, the debate on free speech at the Oxford Union featuring
Jacob Rees-Mogg and Tommy Robinson happened last night and had a very
skimpy attendance. It wasn't due to a lack of interest - quite the
contrary - it was the result of police shutting down the road that
people needed to take to get to the debate. The police had demanded the
Oxford Union give them a substantial amount of money to do their jobs
and the students rightly refused; it's looking like the police, angered
at not getting the money threw a spanner in the works.

The good news is that the debate took place despite the meager
attendance. I look forward to watching it when it is eventually uploaded.

I'd call a roadblock to prevent travel both an infringement upon a basic
human right and actual censorship since they were preventing people from hearing the debate live and in person.

That's the key point Rees-Mogg makes in the video. If you haven't seen
it, I think you will approve very highly of his views in this matter.
