Yep. Same issue with "The Mandalorian" TV series.
I recall Pedro Pascal saying in an interview that playing The
Mandalorian was a collaborative effort, with other performers
helping to create Din Djarin's physical presence on screen...
Which basically means, helmet off = Pedro Pascal, helmet on =
body double/stunt man.
I personally don't see this being any kind of problem whatsoever. Who
cares if Pedro Pascal is sweating under all that costume for 12 hour a day
long shoots? It was a decent movie, that's all that matters!
Which probably save Lucasfilm a lot of money at the end of the
day!
Yeah, probably was a lot cheaper to pay him to read lines in a booth than
have him mutter them under a helmet while acting and then have to read all
the lines in a booth to overdub them anyway. It's a smart move,
financially.
