I watched the replay of the L.A. mayoral debate between Spencer Pratt, who everyone is calling MAGA, but who isn't even a Republican. He's been a
Democrat most of his life but now says he's an independent. He's just not fundamentally batshit insane, so in the world of L.A. politics that makes him appear hard Right in comparison to everyone else.

Then you have the communist tag-team of Karen Bass and Nithya Raman, who spent the entire debate pretending like they were running for the first time and promising 'change'. Change from what, girls? Yourselves? You're the ones who have been in charge for the last four years. Isn't promising change a tacit admission that you've been a failure? Of course L.A. voters are so deeply stupid they won't be able connect those logic dots and they will vote for
    these two collectivist shrews.

There were some amusing moments, i.e. Pratt telling Raman that if she went
down beneath the 110 freeway and offered the 'outreach' she keeps touting as the solution to the vagrant problem, she'd be stabbed in the neck.

And the moderators-- the local NBC affiliate's anchors and one guy from Telemundo-- were predictably biased in favor of the communist candidates.
After Bass said Pratt was lying about the wind speeds on the day of the fires (he wasn't), Pratt called Bass a liar in a subsequent question and was rebuked by the moderator for name-calling. But that's par for the course. Bias and unfair moderation in favor of the Left is what we expect from the media at
    this point.

Then I watched the movie SEND HELP on the Hulus. A black comedy starring
Rachel McAdams, she plays a nerdy socially awkward employee of a financial strategy firm who no one likes and whose boss consistently takes credit for
her brilliant work. At home, she a super fan of the show SURVIVOR and we see all sorts of books on her shelves covering wilderness survival skills.

Her arrogant boss includes her on a trip to Thailand to help close a merger, mainly so he can have her on hand to steal her ideas and promote them as his own, when the plane is struck by lightning and goes down in the South China Sea. Everyone is killed except Rachel and her boss, whose leg is badly
injured. They make it to a small tropical island and Rachel's survival skills kick into high gear. Now she's in charge and her arrogant boss has to depend
    on her for his survival.

Pretty good movie. I recommend it.

I watched a weird little movie on LMN that I'm not sure was "new", or if
it was one that previous aired on Lifetime that I just missed before
(IMDb seems to confirm that it premiered yesterday and thus was "new"):

Dating App Nightmare - This stars Nicky Whalen and Charisma Carpenter.
It co-stars former GH'er Haley Pullos (who now looks pretty
unrecognizable to me thanks to the "work" she's had done), who was fired
from GH and pretty much blackballed for years due to a pretty horrific
car wreck that Pullos perpetrated when DUI (you can look it up!).
I found this movie problematic for a couple of reasons. First - I'm
not sure, but I think Pullos was supposed to be playing a teenager/high schooler, which she was last seen doing a *decade* ago (IOW, she's way
    too old for this now!).
The other problem was that there was no tension here - Pullos plays Whalen's daughter who goes missing after a dating app date, and so the
rest of the movie is Whalen trying to track her daughter down. But once
it's clear that this is more than a "cameo" role from Charisma
Carpenter, 1) you know who the perp is!, and 2) it's pretty clear what
her motive is, which the movie even has Carpenter EXPLICITLY TELL US
less than halfway through the movie. So the rest of the movie is waiting
to see how long it takes Whalen's dummy character to clue in to what's
going on here with her missing daughter.
At least I enjoyed seeing Charisma do a recent LMN flick in which
she's more than a secondary character. And Whalen is OK in this.

I also watched DOOL yesterday - but what really shocked me is when I
stumbled across news on the internet that *both* Johnny/Chanel and
Holly/Tate are going to be written off the show by the end of the year!
    Well that sucks!!

    What did you watch?

Her character already returned from Heaven once (turned out it was a
trick). I'm sure they could have come up with something if they wanted Cordelia, but it doesn't sound like they did. Buffy herself was present
at the end in one scene, but most of the new pilot was about the new characters.

Yeah, she died once before. It slowed her down for a while, but she
    recovered completely.

Did she re-die at the end? I don't even remember that. In my memory,
they activated the potential slayers and tooled off to live their lives. Didn't Giles say something about "another hellmouth in Chicago," to
general laughter? I think she's currently alive as far as we know.
