    Neutronium is the fictional material collected from the heart of
    collapsed Neutron Stars in Star Trek. But it is based on a real life
    thing, the hypothetical matter state of an all Neutron solid. Also the collapsed heart of a supermassive star. But if that is the case, then
    there is a glaring issue with it, which I'll look at in this video.

    I wasn't aware they utilized such terminology in star trek. I assume
    it's a sort of 'metal' used in the construction of something. How cute, but
    a typical hand-wavy sci-fi concept.

    Neutron stars are remnants of supergiant stellar cores. The exotic state
    of matter, in a stellar remnant, adopts its properties due to the
    intense gravitational forces at work.

    This is tantamount to water at the bottom of the deep ocean. Take a
    bottle of deep ocean water and dump it on the surface of the ocean, it
    won't stay compressed.

    If one had a method of removing an amount of matter from a stellar
    remnant, the lack of intense gravitational forces acting on the sample
    would allow it to revert, albeit violently, to its natural
    state. Explosive decompression.

    I wouldn't want to be in the room.
