Star Trek Starfleet Academy Reviews of Season 1 Episode 5 pointed out Alex Kurtzman's show flaws on Paramount. From lore contradictions, characters and even usurping beloved characters for profit, is this Star Trek? Is
modernising Star Trek even possible when Star Trek was a furturistic scifi
to begin with? Has Starfleet Academy stripped Star Trek of what made it actually useful to the audience and can the media critics tell? Is Starfleet Academy worth watching?

What is there to love? Break it apart and sell it for scraps.

There is zero reason a Republican from Vermont and a Republican from California 'agree' on anything. Same for the dems. Europe spent
    centuries right sizing its borders.

I'm been ready to yeet the Mason Dixon line for 40 years.

And Academy is Saved by the Bell with a Trek theme. It's not my hard
scifi taste but we have years of Lower Decks for exploring lore and
stuff. My kids like it, canon issues aside. Not all media is meant for everyone.

The detractors sound like old men yelling at clouds that it's not TOS.
It's trek. It's on TV. And a demographic, maybe not you, enjoys it.

My pre-teen seems to enjoy it as much as I enjoyed TNG at that age.
Lower Decks is a staple show for 'reruns' and I enjoy watching them see
the easter eggs and references in reverse.

Academy is extremely campy and 'small' compared to the vastness of
warping to a new planet every week. It feels like someone put a video
camera up in my dorms some episodes.

And no, it is no more woke than show with an Asian and Russian at the
helm at the height of the Cold War. Or the first on screen interracial
kiss. The two beings with black/white pattering was not a reference to anything happening at the time socially.

Go put on a re-run of DS9 if it irks you so much. Or branch out into
other media like SG-1, Babylon 5, Farscape. I've heard good things about
this "Marvel" Universe, plenty of source material there.

Or, continue to spend hours posting and consuming content you 'hate'.
