Whoops another Incryptid story about the babysitting ghost,
Mary Dunleavy, who was last seen exhausted after carrying
much explosive into Pelton Hall, the HQ of the Covenant of
St. George and failing to escape the blast which blew her
into tiny particles which the anima mundi or the spirit of
the world reassembled to secure her services.

The anima mundi has learned that survivors of
the Covenant are bent on revenge and needs Mary to get
rid of them. They are doing vile things to ghosts which
the anima mundi is in charge of.
So Mary negotiates a contract and takes along two
of her former babies Elsie and Arthur, who are respectively
succubus and incubus. Arthur is in Artie's body as Artie
was destroyed and Arthur is other people's memories
of Artie which Sarah has cobbled together so that Artie
will not be completely lost.
Off on a road trip to Massachusetts they go
but I will say no more but the endeavor is fraught
with unexpected dangers and some amusing moments.

In this same volume which is a hefty paperback there
is a additional novella concerning Verity who is pregnant
about 8 months by her late husband whom the Covenant
killed in ignorance of his identity. She is managing an
apartment house for the Dragons and they send her an
assistant Malena a chupacabra to help her during these
last weeks of pregnancy. They encounter and deal with
a deadly and unexpected threat to the apartment house
full of Incryptids.

Encryptids -1 maybe.

I got this paperback at the San Francisco Public Library
but the price is $26.99 USD and it is a Tor Paperback

We all if we survive tend to slow down as age affects our senses. Before I broke my ankle in 24 I was reading about 4 times
as much as at present. But the book in question is one of the best
in the Incryptid series.
