inter-sexual people. These are not a large group and no threat to
the nations non-transgendered folks.
In your 2nd paragraph are you referring to folks surgically
transgendered or are you talking about the small minority of those
small number of people who carry chromosomes other than XX and XY?
I differentiate between trans-gendered people and inter-sexed people as see my use of the proper terms. Transsexual people are at the extreme
end of
the transgendered spectrum. They must raise the cash for surgery. if
male in
body then expensive electrolysis or nowadays if dark haired then laser hair removal. Not in that order.
If female they may chose to endure amputation of the breasts with possible
loss of any sensation. Various forms of penile construction happen but
I am not current on a lot of these things.
Inter-sexed people are not allowed to maintain their anomalous genitalia
but are frequently operated on shortly after birth to give them something
like the appearance of whichever gender the parents and surgeon
want them to be.
This early surgery has proven to be frequently erroneous as the
child becoming verbal insists that they are of the opposite gender to
the gender they are being raised as.
To me this seems to indicated that gender choice is beyond
the reach of surgery. However surgery can sometimes provide
a satisfactory solution for a great many people but sometimes
people find that they have been mistaken in choosing it as a
solution to the problems they have been experiencing.
I know of several cases where people assumed to be transgendered
were very unhappy with their choices.
One was a paranoid schizophrenic and committed suicide.
Another had a bad healing and did not expect the pain and
effect of the castration.
One in a hospital to recover was actually addicted to opiates
and freaked out over the fact that normal doses of opiates in the
hospital did not touch her pain
One went down to the waterfront and sliced off their breasts.
One married well but into a family full of crazy people and she
died in an automobile crash with her beloved small Dachshund, but
that may have been due to her lifestyle as she liked exitement or
she may have stroked out and lost control of her vehicle.
Others I have known have married and adopted raising
their children in a positive manner in that a profession was
chosen and the child sent to college then married.
Several as a result of bad surgery, no surgery or Life Styles
have become isolates.
(e.g. only one X chromosome, XXX, XXY etc. Note that Y chromosome only doesn't exist presumeably because that gene combination is not viable
- e.g. able to survive - in the womb - there are all kinds of combos
and all rare - altogether that's about 1 in 10000 of the general
population. Not completely insignificant but not a large portion of
the population either)
We have a large population and with 334 Millions of us in the USA only 3340 thousand is appreciable but not especial significant. Transgendered people are far more common than obviously physical inter-sexual persons.
Both though may have complaints of being trapped in the wrong sexed body.
This points to pre-birth hormonal stresses perhaps or maybe we really
have male and female spirits which enter the body before sex selection.
The brains of transgendered people who have died resemble those of
their chosen gender.
To me it appears that the people making a fuss about either group
as being dangerous to the rest of the population are desperate for
people to push around and deprive of anything like a normal life.
The current athletic groups which demand genetic testing before
being admitted to competitions are only exposing rare genetic
diversities the subjects of which have been brought up as women.
Some are even mothers.
