I'm going to have to get back to watching Star Trek: Strange New
    Worlds regularly.
I caught sight on YouTube of the Johnathan Frakes-directed holodeck
episode from Season 3, episode 4, A Space Adventure Hour.
Apparently, Final Frontier was the counterpart to Star Trek in the
Star Trek universe. But the sets were cheesier - Lost in Space level
cheesy - than was the case for Star Trek. Despite limited budgets,
except for the use of some mechanical time counters, TOS managed to
avoid the kind of obviously fake props that all the other television
sci-fi of the time was awash in.
Thus, I'm tempted to think that even if Final Frontier had a dedicated
fan following like that of Star Trek, it wasn't actually quite as
    good.
Not, of course, that I was put off by the cheesy set for that holodeck sequence; oh, no. Like many fans, I'm sure, I was wowed by it.
