Just months after seemingly successfully having fought off lymphoma,
Sir Sam Neill has died suddenly.

Among his SF-related appearances, that I can think of: the rCLJurassic
ParkrCY franchise, rCLEvent HorizonrCY, and a little-known early NZ effort, rCLSleeping DogsrCY.

(Feel free to mention others I have missed.)

A mini series not a movie. Where I first saw him. At the time, absolutely within the SF genre. Today, with hacking, power grids failing, oceanic
cables being cut and satellites having problems, not so SF anymore

Depends on how you define "appearances" and "sci-fi", but the awful
"actor" also ruined the movies and TV shows:
    - Bicentennial Man
    - The Dish
    - Invasion
    - The Portable Door (more 'fantasy' than 'sci-fi')
    - The Triangle
    - Until the End of the World
    - Memoirs of an Invisible Man
    among others.

He is claimed to be a New Zealand "actor", but was actually born in
Ireland and spent a lot of tiem in Australia.

Clearly you are no judge of acting, good or bad. You should stick to what you actually know, negativity.
