Dune: Part 3 Trailer Highlights Robert Pattinson,
Florence Pugh, & More
-------------------------------------------------
The first trailer for Dune: Part 3 has been released.
Dune: Part Three is the upcoming sci-fi sequel that is being
directed by Denis Villeneuve. A sequel to 2021's Dune and 2024's
Dune: Part Two, the movie, which is an adaptation of Frank
Herbert's Dune Messiah, is scheduled to be released in United
States theaters later this year from Warner Bros. Pictures.

What do we see in the Dune Part 3 trailer?
Following the events of Dune: Part 2, the Dune 3 trailer finds
Timothee Chalamet's Paul Atreides as the Padishah Emperor. Also
returning are Zendaya as Chani, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan,
Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides, Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho,
Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, and Rebecca Ferguson as Lady
Jessica.
Additionally, Robert Pattinson has joined the cast as Scytale, as
has Nakoa-Wolf Momoa as Leto II Atreides and Ida Brooke as
Ghanima Atreides.
A description of Herbert's novel, which was published in 1969,
reads, "Dune Messiahacontinues the story of Paul Atreides, better
known-and feared-as the man christened Muad'Dib. As Emperor of
the known universe, he possesses more power than a single man was
ever meant to wield. Worshipped as a religious icon by the
fanatical Fremen, Paul faces the enmity of the political houses
he displaced when he assumed the throne-and a conspiracy
conducted within his own sphere of influence. And even as House
Atreides begins to crumble around him from the machinations of
his enemies, the true threat to Paul comes to his lover, Chani,
and the unborn heir to his family's dynasty..."
Dune: Part Three is currently scheduled to be released on
December 18, 2026. This is also the day that Avengers: Doomsday is
set to come out, so whether or not both films keep that release
date remains to be seen.

The things I am willing to see because I am a fan of the books.
Well, rent/stream. I won't be bothered with these for some time yet.
And the first (and only entertaining) movie. OK, the weirding modules
were a bad idea, but still ...

I regard 3D (in the sense of "stereoptic", not 3D animation) as a sign
of weakness: they know the film won't make it on its own, so they
attach a buzzword to it.
As if a buzzword could overcome word-of-mouth.

I'd be surprised to learn that 3D still has any buzzword power.-a Rather,
I think it's a question of whether the additional ticket receipts are projected to cover a $2m conversion cost. (Nobody shoots in 3D anymore.)

Better than David Lynch's 'Dune' (1984).

Not quite true. :-)Speaking of films that can't make it on their own ...
James Cameron films all his Avatar movies in 3D. The upcoming movies
"Mercy" and "Billie Eilish - Hit Me Hard and Soft" were also filmed in
3D.
