    YAWN!! :-O
More of the adpatation of Frank Herbert's attrociously boring nonsense,
    with another one planned.

Dune: Part 3 Trailer Highlights Robert Pattinson,
    Florence Pugh, & More
    -------------------------------------------------
The first trailer for Dune: Part 3 has been released.

Dune: Part Three is the upcoming sci-fi sequel that is being
directed by Denis Villeneuve. A sequel to 2021's Dune and 2024's
Dune: Part Two, the movie, which is an adaptation of Frank
Herbert's Dune Messiah, is scheduled to be released in United
States theaters later this year from Warner Bros. Pictures.

Check out the Dune: Part Three trailer below:

    Trailer (2mins 29secs)
    <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_9vCamtuPY>

What do we see in the Dune Part 3 trailer?
Following the events of Dune: Part 2, the Dune 3 trailer finds
Timothee Chalamet's Paul Atreides as the Padishah Emperor. Also
returning are Zendaya as Chani, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan,
Anya Taylor-Joy as Alia Atreides, Jason Momoa as Duncan Idaho,
Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck, and Rebecca Ferguson as Lady
    Jessica.

Additionally, Robert Pattinson has joined the cast as Scytale, as
has Nakoa-Wolf Momoa as Leto II Atreides and Ida Brooke as
    Ghanima Atreides.

A description of Herbert's novel, which was published in 1969,
reads, "Dune Messiahacontinues the story of Paul Atreides, better
known-and feared-as the man christened Muad'Dib. As Emperor of
the known universe, he possesses more power than a single man was
ever meant to wield. Worshipped as a religious icon by the
fanatical Fremen, Paul faces the enmity of the political houses
he displaced when he assumed the throne-and a conspiracy
conducted within his own sphere of influence. And even as House
Atreides begins to crumble around him from the machinations of
his enemies, the true threat to Paul comes to his lover, Chani,
and the unborn heir to his family's dynasty..."

Dune: Part Three is currently scheduled to be released on
December 18, 2026. This is also the day that Avengers: Doomsday is
set to come out, so whether or not both films keep that release
    date remains to be seen.

Dune Messiah was probably the worst of the actual Herbert books.
He skipped over all the stuff that would have been really exciting (ie
the Jihad etc) and concentrated on boring & depressing stuff.

It did get better with Leto's story in _Children Of Dune_.

I've read 'Dune' a long time and I think the movie (part 1 & 2) was
pretty good. Better than David Lynch's 'Dune' (1984).

I also read 'Dune Messiah', Children of Dune', but I gave up after 'God
Emperor of Dune'. Nothing compares to the first book imo.

I'm not sure what you mean by animated movies.
If you mean movies that used 3D animation, so the characters look
rounded, but were not stereoptic, then certainly they don't count.
But some animated films did both. Sadly, the only one I am sure of is /Coraline/ -- which was stop-motion rather than 3D animation. Note
that stop-motion animation, like live-action actors, is inherently 3D.
And a lot of the CGI in live-action films is 3D animation. Has to be,
to look right since at least the actors are real and so 3D by
    definition.
This confusion, of course, simply reveals how bad the decision, when
stereoptic films were revived, to retain "3D" as their designation
really was given the existing use of "3D" for an animation technique.
