    Recently came across this
    <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2PK0N3460k> hour-and-a-half
collection of interviews with various former cast and crew members of
the Gerry & Sylvia Anderson live-action series rCLUFOrCY from 1969/70.

That item looks to have been put together in 2016 for inclusion in the
Blu-Ray issue of the episodes. (Rather amusing to see one or two
interviewees admitting ignorance as to what rCLBlu-RayrCY meant ...) Some material (e.g. extracts featuring Gerry himself, Ed Bishop) was
obviously from a few years earlier, before those people had passed
    away.

All those interviewed had nothing but fond memories of working with
Gerry Anderson. Well, this would have been after his breakup with
Sylvia, but anything she might have said about her former (late, by
this time) husband was left out of the interview.

Hmm, just looking things up, Sylvia herself died in 2016. So maybe her interview was from earlier, too.

The interviews included people like Shane Rimmer and Matt Zimmerman,
who (like Ed Bishop) had done voices for earlier Anderson puppet
productions, such as rCLThunderbirdsrCY. Zimmerman was a particularly entertaining, affable, gregarious guy, with such an interesting face
itrCOs a wonder almost all his work for the Andersons was just voice
acting. He had one scene in rCLUFOrCY as a spacecraft copilot, the making
of which, according to his version of events, seemed calculated to try
to kill him. (I said he was entertaining, didnrCOt I?)

The interviewer expressed an interest in making another documentary, specifically about Matt. I see he is also gone now, so I wonder if
    they ever did ...

Wanda Ventham didnrCOt take much encouragement to speculate about
whether there was any kind of budding romance between her character
(Col Virginia Lake) and Ed BishoprCOs Commander Straker. Certainly there
were a few scenes between them where tenderness was expressed in the
midst of shared peril. But there was never a chance (e.g. in more
episodes) for things to go beyond that.

The effects people were quite proud of their work. And justly so.
Their creativity on a limited budget was really quite amazing. Maybe
the producers assumed everyone knows that Sylvia AndersonrCOs
contribution with the costuming was such an important part of the
rCLlookrCY of the series, that it got little or no mention in this item,
but I think it bears a greater explanation than it got.

If yourCOre a rCLUFOrCY fan who feels you can never have too much trivia
about the series, itrCOs worth a watch.

I have the "UFO: The Complete Series" Blu-ray ... which is where
this behind-the-scenes featurette is from. The UFO Blu-ray
collection is highly recommended... the episodes look great, the
picture is crisp and detailed. The quality shits over a lot of
other TV shows made in 1969/70.

Fun fact #2 / Sherlock Trivia

Benedict Cumberbatch's father (Timothy Carlton) also played
his father in those seasons of "Sherlock".
