STORY LINE (in english):
'Customs investigator Kressin is on a ship on his way back from his vacation from the Bosporus and is talking to his two young friends Tatjana and Ulrike. He sees tour guide Ben Canitz throw orange handballs into the water. When Kressin' observes that 'a motorboat that is collecting these balls' afloat, 'he becomes' curious 'and' 'makes out the' identification of the boat (Judith 3). 'He visits Canitz in his cabin and' talks to 'him, but then leaves him alone' 'because he is still on vacation an'd not actually 'on duty. As the passengers disembark and get on a bus, Kressin looks around and sees two men entering the ship. Kressin has booked his return trip to Cologne and says goodbye to his two friends with a meal at Willkomm-H||ft when he realizes that it is the 17th today and that a ship from Lebanon on which Canitz had booked his next trip' might 'arrive.
