    Not for me - as I had barely started to learn English by then, and
    of course we watched the dubbed to German version. I suspect the
    title song was also changed, but don't remember. (I remember the
    Brady Bunch one, though)

    A couple of years ago I stumbled upon the series on YouTube, I think,
    and then it was obvious.

    It took me decades to realize that the titles of Hal Clement's
    novels _Mission of Gravity_, _Star Light_, and _The Nitrogen Fix_
    are puns.

    No, I read them in Englisch. I simply didn't know the expression
    "a pride of lions", (although it was very obvious that the Hani
    were modeled on lions) when I read them.

    In German translation, the novel is titled "Das Schiff der Chanur"
    (the ship of the Chanur).

    Similar with "Electric Light Orchestra". The lightbulb was
    clearly displayed, but the "light orchestral music" was a term I
    didn't know.

    <https://www.atlasobscura.com/places/andy-capp-statue>

    It was also adapted into a TV series starring James Bolan. It wasn't
    very good and only lasted one season in 1988. <https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094417/>
