    Yup. I got new roofs on three of the buildings in my office complex in January, including my office building which had a 22 year old roof. I
    paid my roofer dude to do the work. He and his crew had already worked
    on the roofs three times before.

    A couple of years ago I redid the roofs on my house - there's two
    sections, one 1840s, one 1980s.

    The old house got 50-year shingles. The new, a metal roof.

    In the English-language TV series "Berlin Station", the word
    "roofer" is used for a general assistant (concierge) for rich
    clients in former Eastern Bloc countries. Maybe because the job
    is dangerous or maybe derived from some slavic expression . . .
