Yup, landscapes are caused by something. Just hope that you are not
there when the landscape is being changed. The super volcano at
Yellowstone will manipulate the landscape in the west and central USA significantly in the geologically near future.

The real problem is when the landscape is changed to portrait, and all
    the buildings fall over. ;-)

If you like stuff like this, I reccomend Myron Cook's Youtube channel,
which is absolutely hitting the 'How did this geography happen?'
    button in the American West.

Indeed it may do so as Harry Turledove wrote in his Supervolcano series of 3 books which are great reading in my
    estimation.
In California we have more than one area of volcanic activity
and if Shasta wakes up we will have some sort of hell. Lassen is
bad enough and Mammoth Lakes has hot springs as we do
hot mud pots in the Imperial Valley.
A volcano looms as well over Seattle and its suburbs.
If it blows then Mount St.Helens eruption will be considered
mild. No escape if it lets loose.

No one wants to be around to see these horrific events.
    Some will be most likely.

Those living in the Duwamish valley will, most likely, be toast.
Literally: it is the Path to Puget Sound.
But the earthquakes it spawns will affect everyone.
