Here is my suggestion for your next watch party, George Orwell's 1984, >because that is what the woke far left fascists have turned this country >into. We could all point out every part of Orwell's novel that has now >come into fruition, which is basically almost all of it.

There are 2 version of that movie. Or is is 3?

IMO I think we're a blend of dystopias. There's a lot of Brave New World
and a good shake of This Perfect Day along with the 1984. 1984 shows how
much of our lives are becoming controlled by propaganda, but the other
two both show how we're turning to escapism, and This Perfect Day even predicted the rise of the tech caste.

It might be quicker to list the dystopian novels which *aren't* coming
true around us. I don't see much We, but it's been a long while since I
    read it.

There's a famous 1937 picture of Stalin with 3 of his cronies which
was "retouched" to remove one of them after he was 'purged'. In 1945
they 'retouched' the famous picture of raising the Hammer and Sickle
over the Reichstag which was retouched as one of the soldiers was
wearing TWO watches which of course was proof of looting which Stalin
didn't want to show especially since he knew the photo would be the
Soviet equivalent to the famous Iwo Jima photo.

Imagine Winston Smith with Photoshop - that was after all what he
primarily did for a living in 1984...

    I'm familiar with that one.

    In 1945
they 'retouched' the famous picture of raising the Hammer and Sickle
over the Reichstag which was retouched as one of the soldiers was
wearing TWO watches which of course was proof of looting which Stalin

Didn't know that. Back then, they retouched with teeny paintbrushes.

Imagine Winston Smith with Photoshop - that was after all what he
primarily did for a living in 1984...

Between Photoshop and now AI, the rising generation may never trust photographs. Funny to think that "photos don't lie" was a truism.
