I doubt the Mexican-stereotype mouse will survive to an actual movie
release in these days of Politically Correct idiocy. Again, it will
more likely be a completely different, in-name-only silly reboot of the character.

Brand-New Looney Tunes Movie Taps The Book of Life Helmer as Director
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
Warner Bros. Pictures Animation is moving forward with a new
feature-length animated film focused on Speedy Gonzales. Moreover,
The Book of Life filmmaker Jorge R. Gutierrez is set to direct the
project. The film marks the fan-favorite's return to the big screen
as the studio reintroduces the classic Looney Tunes character.

Speedy Gonzales animated movie in development, Jorge R. Gutierrez to
    direct
Warner Bros. Pictures Animation has officially set a new animated
feature centered on Speedy Gonzales, with filmmaker Jorge R. Gutierrez
    set to helm the project.

The movie, which is currently in development, will bring the iconic
Looney Tunes character back to the big screen. However, plot details
and a screenwriter have not yet been announced (via The Hollywood
    Reporter).

Gutierrez previously teased his involvement in the project last month
through Instagram, sharing an image of himself holding a Speedy
Gonzales figurine. He was dressed in an outfit similar to the
character's. Gutierrez captioned the post, "Guess what movie I might
be developing at Warner Brothers Pictures Animation...," prompting
speculation that has now been confirmed.

Speaking to Animation Magazine, the Mexican filmmaker also expressed
his enthusiasm for the project. He said, "I could not be more excited
to dance the Mexican Hat Dance with Speedy, such a legendary and
iconic character! I can't wait to share with the world the amazing and
spicy dish we are cooking at Warner Bros. Pictures Animation!"

Furthermore, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation president Bill Damaschke
praised the director's creative vision. He said, "Jorge is a singular
storyteller whose voice, artistry, and cultural perspective make every
project he touches feel both timeless and completely new."

Jorge R. Gutierrez brings extensive experience in animation, having
created the Emmy Award-winning series El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny
Rivera, as well as Maya and the Three. He also directed the 2014
animated feature The Book of Life. He is represented by UTA and
    Chatrone.

Meanwhile, additional details regarding the film's storyline, voice
cast, and release timeline are expected to be revealed as development
    continues.

Well, he was in that odd Looney Tunes-as-slice-of-life series from a
few years ago. I think he owned a restaurant.

Frito-Lay abandoning the Frito Bandido was taught in my college
advertising courses in the '70s, it just wasn't called "politically
incorrect" until the rightwing created the trope.

Nothing these Politically Correct morons like claim from the 2000s /
2010s as being their ideas or "achievements" actually are anyway.

You get ridiculous claims of "the first TV show with an all black cast"
being something that started in 2018 ... yet there were already such
shows back in the 1960s and 1970s. :-\
