Brits arenrCOt allowed to call marmalade rCLmarmaladerCY any more. Instead, they must now label their product as rCLcitrus marmaladerCY <
https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c0e53x475qjo>.
This is happening because Britain is having to rCLreadopt new EU food regulations in a bid to boost trade and reduce red tape for British exportersrCY, and the EU is rCLwidening the legal definition of marmalade across EuroperCY -- a rule change which was done without consultation
with the UK. Because, you know, the UK is not (any longer) an EU
member.
IsnrCOt it fun to have the worst of both worlds? Being subject to rules
you thought would no longer apply once you left that community, only
to discover you still have to obey them to continue selling into that
market?
