    Reading that article seems to me that the leaders need to get back to the drawing board.

    It seems we/they do not have a process to show a long term area for the increase area of houses.

    Seems been done in a bit of a rush.

    Then why are new houses being built? Who is buying them if there is
    no need for them?

    Some are being built by the government. That's the worst part of it.

    Who is buying them if there is no need for them?

    I suspect immigrants, of which there are also too many.

    Let's put it this way: There is either too much housing or not enough
    roads.

    There would be on average about one car for every dwelling.

    The response from the Auckland council has been to create traffic
    bottlenecks and other obstructions, and if this is not addressed,
    there will always be too much housing in auckland.
