    After that brutal and shocking massacre of Jewish participants at a
    festival at SydneyrCOs Bondi Beach last month, some bright sparks in
    charge of the Adelaide Festival WritersrCO Week decided that it would be somehow insensitive to have a Palestinian, Dr Randa Abdel-Fattah
    present. Because the very fact that she has been critical of IsraelrCOs occupation of her country is tantamount to anti-Semitism, donrCOt you
    know.

    So they withdrew their invention to her to attend.

    And what do you know, a whole bunch of other invitees see this, quite
    rightly, as a total overreaction. And so, to express their solidarity
    with this unfair singling out of a Palestinian author, they are
    pulling out en masse from the festival. This includes Efc|Efc+rCOs own former Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern. And a Jewish writer, Louise Adler, the
    daughter of holocaust survivors, too.
