Hey, I hear Newfoundland considered joining the USA in the 1940's.
What if Trump grabbed Newfoundland? Would that get any support from
    the Newfoundlanders?

Yeah, there is a conspiracy theory, which is outlined some
in the film Secret Nation, available on YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xiIOurc19aA .
that Britain conspired to hand Newfoundland over
to Canada. Joining the USA wasnrCOt on the ballot
but if it was Newfoundland might have joined, especially
    given strong connections between Newfoundland
ad New York and Boston, plus the presence of a
few American bases here which resulted in many
    Newfoundland women marrying Americans. But
now with Trump in power I donrCOt think many Newfoundlanders
and Labradorians would support joining the USA,
especially if it was a hostile takeover. Most of us
these days are happy in Canada.
