Peter Williams has quite clearly outlined just how Luxon does not have
what it takes to be the Parliamentary leader of the National Party. He
is simply far too inexperienced in politics, and may never be good
    enough for the job.

In comparison, John Key was in his second term as an MP before he was
elected leader and went on to win the 2008 election. Other National
PMs (even English) were career politicians.

The reality is that National are so bereft of potential leaders (as
evidenced by the post-Key years with English, Bridges, Muller and
Collins) meaning that Luxon took the role probably 6 years too soon.
