LAS VEGAS (KSNV) u An accident at Red Rock Canyon over the weekend now has
a climber fighting for his life in the hospital. His friends created a GoFundMe to help pay for his medical expenses.
On Saturday, Las Vegas Metro Search and Rescue were called to help a
climber who had fallen. He hit his head and went through a seizure before
he was airlifted to the University Medical Center.
News 3 later learned the climber was 25-year-old Will Campbell, who was visiting the valley from New Zealand.
An avid climber, he and his friends were tackling Red Rock Canyon as part
of their annual spring break "guys" trip.
"Our hearts sunk," said Campbell's friend Thomas Doell. "We never
experienced something like that."
Doell explained to Campbell that travel insurance only covers so much and started a GoFundMe to help with medical expenses.
They are hoping their friend pulls through.
