50% of usenet as it is now died that day because of simple web access
convenience loss. It was easy, simple, didn't require a reader, and
could be accessed from any capable device. The only posters left in
some groups are just plain cunts, tiny cores of regulars who think
they own the place.
The number of users who used Usenet legitimately through Google Groups
was significantly smaller than the amount of garbage coming from there.

with both left and right leaning users, but I can't stand
