• Slrn Article Screen

    When I am in the article screen how do I set things up so that the article
    is at the top of the screen?
    It seems that by default the article is about 20 lines from the top.

    Thanks,
    Tom

    One approach is as follows:

    To configure which headers are displayed in the
    slrn article viewer, you need to use the visible_headers command
    in your ~/.slrnrc configuration file.

    The visible_headers command takes a comma-separated list of the
    header names you wish to see.

    Configuration Steps

    Open your slrn configuration file (typically ~/.slrnrc) in a
    text editor.

    Add or modify the visible_headers line with your desired
    headers. The order specified will be the order in which they
    appear when viewing an article.

    Example configuration: This line sets From:, Subject:,
    Newsgroups:, and Date: as the visible headers:

    visible_headers "From:,Subject:,Newsgroups:,Date:,Followup-To"

    Mine is set as:

    visible_headers "From:,Subject:,Newsgroups:,Date:"

    So I see four lines of headers plus a blank line above the message
    body.

    I hope I have understood you correctly.

    Unfortunately, I don't have slrn at hand right now.

    So I see four lines of headers plus a blank line above the message

    I have the headers that I'd like to see displaying correctly.
    The issue I am having is that the article does not start near the top of the screen at all.
    It starts quite a ways from the top when reading.

    Got things working. All I had to do was hit z when in the article viewer.

    Fine. But unfortunately, it's not permanent.

    I have the following code in a file called "size.sl":
    #v+

    define resize_screen_hook ()
    {
    set_article_window_size (SCREEN_HEIGHT/2);
    }

    #v-

    And "interpret size.sl" in my .slrnrc.

    Obviously, I like the article at exactly halfway. How to customize
    this is explained here and is left as an exercise for the reader!
