• Archiving own articles in tin

    Hello, all.

Can tin keep an archive of the articles I posted? I mean not the
posting history, which contains only headers, but entire artcicles
    including the body?

See the *two* different 'posted' files in 'man 5 tin'.

The default for the file you want is

    ${TIN_HOMEDIR:-"$HOME"}/Mail/posted

but it can be changed by the setting posted_articles_file and
default_savedir in your tinrc file or elswhere.

    I have

    # Directory where articles/threads are saved
    default_savedir=~/News
    ...
    # Filename where to keep all postings (default posted)
    # If no filename is set then postings will not be saved posted_articles_file=posted

in my tinrc file, so my posted articles are saved in

    ~/News/posted

I made this change, because the default Mail/posted is illogical for
    News articles.

My News/posted file is some 900K lines, so I have posted hardly any
    articles at all! :-)

It's below ~/Mail as the file is in mbox format (so it can be viewed
    via e.g. mutt -f Mail/posted).

Thanks. Good reason. I should have known that you wouldn't do anything illogical! :-)

Thanks. Here it is described in tin.5:

    ${TIN_HOMEDIR:-"$HOME"}/Mail/posted
Copy of all posted articles in mbox(5) format. The filename
can be changed by setting posted_articles_file.
