Why not just view all articles? There's a pull-down in the upper
left to switch from Unread Articles to some other view.

Just a FYI: the MicroPlanet Gravity was picked up by Steve Gibson @GRC
some time ago. I don't know what changes were made (you can ask under 'discussions', but if you want to test his version (3.0.11), then you
    can download it here: <https://www.grc.com/freepopular.htm>

Thanks. I must admit apart from being forgetful I have had no problems
    with the old versiom.
V 3,0.11 installed over the old one and I am yet to notice any
    differences.
For me it beats all the other newsreaders, by miles.

Not quite. tin quite deliberately adds a Sender: header divulging one's identity any time one attempts to send an anonymous post. It does this,
again quite deliberately, without informing or prompting the victim in
    any way.
If I recall correctly, the "justification" is that the header is
optional, and that it's legitimate for that option to be exercised by
the maintainers of tin rather than the user.
Or, at least, it did this the last time I tried it, maybe 5 years ago.
I don't know whether or not this violates the GDPR in the EU.
We've been over this in this newsgroup several times in the last 30
    years or so.
That said, I still use tin, despite the above misfeature.

Could be. For my posts in mhd/asd, I used a nym (i.e. anonymous), but
I put that nym in a scope= section in .tin/attributes, so it was a
thoughtful thing, not a spontaneous anonymous post by just editing the
From: of a post while you're composing it.

OTOH, once in a while I have posted as 'Santa Claus' without putting
it is a scope= section and I don't remember seeing a 'Sender:' header in
    those posts.

Perhaps, if he can be bothered, Urs can shed a light on this.

If I recall correctly, the "justification" is that the header is
optional, and that it's legitimate for that option to be exercised by
the maintainers of tin rather than the user.

I can only remember some old requirement that tin wanted a real domain
name in From:, which could be overridden by some setting, which I
probably set 20+++ years ago (tried to find it, but could find it).

Or, at least, it did this the last time I tried it, maybe 5 years ago.

Well, as you can see my tin version is nearly 23 years old and I
    haven't encountered it.

I could check my local newsserver for articles with my old mhd/asd nym
to see if they had a Sender: header, but that is quite a lot of work.
FWIW, none of the copies of my posts in News/posted have a Sender:
header, none, including those Santa Claus posts.

I don't know whether or not this violates the GDPR in the EU.

I don't think the GDPR has a stance on anonymous communication, but
    might be wrong.

We've been over this in this newsgroup several times in the last 30
    years or so.

I don't remember, but gladly take your word for it.

That said, I still use tin, despite the above misfeature.

A News Access Plan to combine several servers, choose which server to
use on what newsgroup, Personas, yEnc support (if needed), supports
several languages for spell check, kill/watch filters with an expiration
    date, ...

Some people don't get over the GUI. I switched from OE to a cracked
version of 1.8. Then bought 1.93, helped with the Dutch translation and
    got all the future updates.

Long, long, loooong time ago I tried MPG, but it wasn't for me. I also
tried Xnews (still have a working copy), XanaNews, Pan and 40tude
Dialog. Always went back to Agent.

tin adds a sender only if he From differs from the configured domain-name (compile time) and adding a Sender is not disabled (which is a system wide
    not a per user setting).
