• Combination of the comp.lang.pascal.* newsgroups

    From Dr Engelbert Buxbaum@engelbert_buxbaum@hotmail.com to news.groups.proposals on Fri Nov 14 08:25:01 2025
    From Newsgroup: news.groups.proposals

In the 90's, when there were dozens of messages
per day, the comp.lang.pascal newsgroup was
split into several sub-groups. Given the now
much smaller rate of messages, I would like to
propose that they be recombined again.

This would also take into account the
considerable overlap in the topics of these
groups. In addition, it would make things easier
    for newcomers.

Is there a special procedure that needs to be
    followed?

    Thanks

    Engelbert

Reasonable idea. Technically that means to create comp.lang.pascal and
    delete the other groups.

The charters can be changed too.

Yes, there will be various RfCs that cover the topic and give people a possibility for feedback. https://www.big-8.org/wiki/Content_and_Format_of_a_Request_for_Discussion_(RFD)

We will discuss that in out next meeting.

That's because the line has been wrapped in the middle of the link.
