From Newsgroup: news.groups
According to the headers I see in news.groups.proposals, this was
crossposted to news.groups. But I don't see it in news.groups. Perhaps
a personal problem.

Adam Kerman and Steve Bonine both consider the proposed changes a "make- work" activity that achieves nothing useful.
This may well be a first in the history of Usenet, that it is documented
that Adam and Steve agree on something.
I count 29 newsgroups in the comp.unix hierarchy. I see here a proposal
to remove two of them with this rationale:
I propose to delete groups that are not used well and to direct the
people to more general groups like comp.unix.misc in case they want to discuss the topics they special groups covered.
(Not sure who "I" is since the item was published by "Usenet Big-8
Management Board".)
Here are two newsgoups out of 29 which, by definition, "are not well
used". Removing them will divert the activity there, which doesn't
exist, into the remaining 27 comp.unix newsgroups.
This is a classic example of "'make-work' activity that achieves nothing useful".
I hear that the position of FidoNet Zone Coordinator is open. Perhaps
you can take over the NodeList and remove systems from it.
