• Articles from News Tcpreset Net being refused by newsfeed.endofthelinebbs.com

    To the administrator of endofthelinebbs.com,

    Hello,

I'm writing to report an issue with our news feed to your server. Our
logs show that your server, newsfeed.endofthelinebbs.com, is
consistently refusing the articles that we are offering.

For context, the incoming feed from your server to us is working
correctly, and we are accepting articles from you without issue.
However, for the outgoing feed, a typical entry in our innfeed log looks
    like this:

    ... offered 31 accepted 0 refused 31 ...

This indicates that while we are offering articles, your server is
accepting zero and refusing all of them.

Could you please investigate on your end? Some possible causes could be:

A change in your newsgroup acceptance policy (perhaps we are offering
groups you no longer wish to carry).

A configuration issue on your server that is inadvertently refusing our
    feed.

We would appreciate it if you could check your logs and let us know the
    reason for the refusals.

We are ready to adjust our configuration if the issue is on our side.

    Thank you,

    Gabx

    Hi Friend. you misunderstand.
some, or even all (100%) refused is totally fine.
Was your server offline? 0 accepted : 31 refused is not any issue.
Indeed it is a good sign that everything is working ;)

If your neighbour peer refuses the articles they already have them.
If you see high rejected instead, there could be something wrong.

    https://manpages.debian.org/unstable/inn2/innfeed.8.en.html

    refused
The number of articles offered to the host that it indicated it did
not want because it had already seen the message-ID. The remote host
indicates this by sending a 435 response to an IHAVE command or a 438
    response to a CHECK command.

    rejected
The number of articles transferred to the host that it did not
accept because it determined either that it already had the article or
it did not want it because of the article's Newsgroups or Distribution
header fields, etc. The remote host indicates that it is rejecting the
article by sending a 437 or 439 response after innfeed sent the entire
    article.

endoftheline is in US and your server is in DE.
It is very likely that "eotl" already got the articles you are offering.

That's how usenet works ;) I see no problem here!

This undicates nothing, you need the code that tells you why on each
article, but a few articles will give you a quick idea, I'm betting
BillyG is right, 438 errors, duplicates, if its 439 thats intentional, be
it spam filters or html in txt orbinary, or....they should, but not all servers, say "why"

I just wanted to make sure there weren't any issues i wasn't aware of
on the other end of the cable.

I'll see how it goes and get back to you if necessary.

grazie a tutti e buona giornata!

After several attempts to contact the news administrator via the email
that was originally used for communication about a backlog of articles
and receiving no response, I have removed the configuration for
    tcpreset.net.

    gabriel1@tcpreset.net (gabriel1@tcpreset.net)
Your message couldn't be delivered. The Domain Name System (DNS)
reported that the recipient's domain does not exist.

Finally, if you wanted a timely response, it would have been better to
email me rather than hope that I read this group, which I do, but not frequently.

This was discussed here, and he fixed, must be easily a month ago now,

    Updated Date: 2025-07-30T09:55:25.0Z

nearly 2 months ago actually by looks of it.

I'd agree with this, I think most admins don't bother reading the groups thread list with anything more than a passing glance - if at all, let
    alone actually reading the posts.

You are right, i feel sorry for this.

Issues have been corrected. tcpreset.net is operational.

    Both mail and usenet.

Let me know if you want to re-establish the feed.
