    Hi,

    After upgrading from 15.0-STABLE stable/15-n282003-d2fb6b8f80cc (2026-02-28)
    to 15.1-STABLE #0 stable/15-n283597-3ae682909950 (today) I'm seeing
the console fill up with messages like these:

May 19 11:53:09 desktop kernel: [2732] May 19 11:53:09 desktop getty[90061]: open /dev/ttyu0: No such file or directory
May 19 11:53:09 desktop kernel: [2732] May 19 11:53:09 desktop getty[90278]: open /dev/ttyu0: No such file or directory
May 19 11:53:09 desktop kernel: [2732] May 19 11:53:09 desktop getty[90393]: open /dev/ttyu0: No such file or directory
May 19 11:53:09 desktop kernel: [2732] May 19 11:53:09 desktop init[90564]: getty repeating too quickly on port /dev/ttyu0, sleeping 30 secs
May 19 11:53:39 desktop kernel: [2762] May 19 11:53:39 desktop getty[90564]: open /dev/ttyu0: No such file or directory
May 19 11:53:39 desktop kernel: [2762] May 19 11:53:39 desktop getty[91187]: open /dev/ttyu0: No such file or directory

    /etc/ttys has this in it:

    ttyu0 "/usr/libexec/getty 3wire" vt100 on secure

I do have a serial console that uses /dev/ttyU0 but this was not plugged
in at the time. When it's plugged in, /dev/ttyU0 appears but this disappears when it's unplugged as well as /dev/ttyU0.init and /dev/ttyU0.lock
There is no ttyu* at all in /dev with the unit unplugged).

There are no programs using /dev/ttyu0 while this is happening (it happens
on the console immediately after reboot)

    How can I fix this?

Disable the entry in /etc/ttys. Change "on" to "off" and "kill -HUP 1"
