    (from 10 Mar 2025).

    In my case:
    * I needed both libmd.so.7 and libutil.so.10.
    * The cited circumvention (copying the missing libraries from
    /usr/obj/usr/src/amd64.amd64/tmp/lib/ to /lib) proved effective.
    * The systems being updated had generally been getting regular weekly
    updates, tracking stable/14 for the last couple of years, with the
    "build" part being done on a machine that is better suited to the
    task, which then NFS-exports its /usr/src & /usr/obj to the "client"
    machines. They then install to a DESTDIR that is a different
    bootable slice (so "rollback" is just "reboot from the old slice").
    * This update was from stable/14-n273128-f9d671f726ac (28 Dec 2025) to
    stable/15-n281645-785d429c2b93 (31 Dec 2025).

    I'm posting in the hope that doing so might make others' circumventions
    a bit faster. :-}

    Peace,
    david
