• dmesg binary seems to do nothing

    usual buildworld kernel reboot method. Neither dmesg returns data.
    Is this a known issue?

    I do not see this "lack of output" from dmesg on a system updated from stable/15-n280730-f6923c0a68a6 to stable/15-n280738-bf65752dcec9 (and in
    the process of being updated to stable/15-n280745-167b9fac60a7) -- also
    amd64.

    I'm testing again, this time on a vm. This one a stable/14
    upgraded to stable/15-n280738-bf65752dcec9.
    On this one, dmesg works as expected.

    Now doing a source upgrade from that to 317a5dd0288e, let's see
    if it still works

    Interestingly, I had to rm -rf obj on here before a buildworld
    could start because of:

    Deleting stale files in build tree...
    ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libutil.so.9" not found, required by "env"
    0.00 real 0.00 user 0.00 sys
    *** [_cleanworldtmp] Error code 1

    Seems rm -fr obj again and another build fixed it
