    Hi,

    If MySQL is selected configuring nagios-plugins it will pull in
    mysql-client.

    What would be the correct way of informing nagios-plugins that it should
    use mariadb-client instead?

    I use

    DEFAULT_VERSIONS= mysql=11.8m

    in our poudriere setups. Do you build yourself ? The package builders
    probably use the default, which is 8.0 (which is mysql).

    11.8m -- the m indicates mariadb.
