From Newsgroup: muc.lists.freebsd.ports
All,
So, FreeBSD ports is missing a package for the SourceHut client, hut. I currently use this from WSL2 Ubuntu 24.04 for day-to-day SourceHut repo management.
Being able to do this from FreeBSD instances would be very helpful.
I can't seem to edit
https://wiki.freebsd.org/WantedPorts so I am
emailing the list directly (I am not subscribed).
I had raised
https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=293427
for it, but apparently that's not the new port request procedure.
Yes, I migrated to SourceHut from GitHub for "real stuff", because of Microsoft being utterly evil, and training Copilot on copylefted code,
when they know fine well that RAG-based LLMs cannot attribute sources correctly. That amounts to IP theft in my book, or at least blatant
disregard for the attribution clause of a FLOSS license.
"Autocomplete for me, but not for thee."
cheers
Bruce
